Our Peer Network connects you with other disabled people from across Aotearoa.

Members of the Peer Network are volunteers with lived experience. We are disabled people who want to use our experience to support other disabled people.

Peer Network

How does it work?

You can choose a Peer Supporter or ask us, and we can pair you up with someone.

Our Peer Supporters are disabled people with life experience to share. You can connect with them via phone, text, video call, or email.

You can connect with our Peer Network to:

  • Talk about life

  • Share your experiences

  • Chat about your hobbies

  • Work towards a goal

  • Simply connect.

When you are matched with a Peer Supporter, they will organise a time to connect with you. They will listen and talk to you about what you want to get out of the Peer Network. You can choose how often you’ll talk and for how long.

Who are our Peer Supporters?

Any disabled person in Aotearoa can volunteer as a Peer Supporter. We know that everyone has valuable experience to share.

We encourage all Peer Supporters to join our training programme. This helps give you the best possible experience.

Our Peer Supporters each have their own experience and their own passions. Read more about them on our Peer Supporter profiles page.
